PermaLip® – a new more permanent solution for full lips

There is a definite trend for full pouty lips thanks to Angelina Jolie and the Kardashians and many other new trendsetters. But even if you don’t want over-the-top, just a little more plumpness with a natural look, it might take some doing. Not everyone is lucky enough to be born with full lips. Or sometimes just life can affect the natural fullness of your lips.

Pout with a little ouch

Injectable tissue fillers have been around for a while now, and have been the go-to for adding fullness to lips and other areas, but with the disadvantage of being only a temporary fix. The injections are quick and easy, but do wear off over a few months or more, and have to be repeated regularly to maintain the desired fullness. Ergo, more shots and possibly another hideout session due to temporary swelling and bruising.

Introducing PermaLip

If you are in love with the idea of a poutier pucker but aren’t digging the idea of dishing out the dough and dealing with the downtime on a regular basis, now you don’t have to. Thanks to a new product available called PermaLip, we can offer you a more permanent solution!

The PermaLip implant is an FDA-approved soft, smooth and solid silicone implant. It is durable and cannot rupture or deflate. After the patient is numbed, the implants are gently threaded through the upper and lower lips. Then the tiny openings at each end are closed with dissolvable suture. The whole process takes less than 30 minutes. There will, of course, be some swelling and bruising, but after a few days-voila!

Why PermaLip?

There are various sizes of implants available for a customized look that can be totally natural-looking or more full for those who like that look. If you want to remove them or change out for bigger ones, the removal process is super easy and quick too.

Injectables still have a place

While permanent lip implants will not completely replace dissolvable fillers, they do offer a benefit for those patients seeking a more permanent alternative for fuller lips. For those patients who have wrinkles or lines outside the lips, aka lipstick lines or smile lines, fillers will still be the best solution.
