What is a Breast Lift Procedure?

Also known as a mastopexy, a breast lift is intended to produce an elevated, more youthful breast contour, as well as nipple-areolar complexes of the desired size and at the correct height.

Am I A Candidate For Breast Lift Surgery?

You may be a candidate for breast lift surgery by Dr. Howard if you have sagging breasts due to past pregnancies, genetics, or aging. You may also desire this procedure if the sagging is too great to be treated with a breast implant alone, or if your nipple-areolar complexes (pigmented areas around nipples) are enlarged.

What To Expect During Your Breast Lift Procedure

Breast lift surgery is done on an outpatient basis under sedation and local or general anesthesia. The design of the incisions can vary but usually include incisions around the nipple-areolar complex and in the crease under the breast. The nipple-areolar complex is repositioned higher, the excess skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped in a pleasing contour and in a more normal position.

In some cases, a breast lift may be combined with implants for a more significant transformation. Your body will be assessed as a whole to determine if a breast lift with implants may or may not be advisable.

What to Expect After Your Breast Lift?

After the procedure, patients will go home in a bra with only light dressings over the incision lines. The surgical bra is worn for 2-3 weeks. In most cases, there are no external sutures to be removed. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Light activities may be started in 7-10 days.

How Much Does a Breast Lift Cost?

As with most cosmetic procedures, the cost of a breast lift varies from person to person depending on a variety of factors. After analyzing your body as a whole, we’ll develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Once we have determined the best technique for your specific needs, we’ll discuss the price that you can expect to pay.

Breast enhancement is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance. The patient is responsible for payment. Fortunately, we offer financing options just for you! The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.

Reviews

Words can never express the feelings I am having now. However, words are what I have…I come home from work after being on my feet all day and can no longer feel the cutting straps in my shoulders nor the ache and pain in my back. My entire outlook on life has changed. I am now able to sleep more than 3 hours at one time. Thank you for the excellent work you do. You are an answer to my prayers!
