Call River City Plastic Surgery in Jefferson City, Missouri at 573-635-9668 to schedule your personal consultation.
Your consultation is the first step toward creating the appearance you desire. You will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Howard and see before and after photographs of her work while you discuss your goals and concerns in detail with her. The doctor will review your medical history and list of prescription and over-the-counter medications, and smoking history. She will also perform a brief physical examination and give you her recommendations regarding the procedure best suited for you. You will also have an opportunity to discuss fees with our Patient Coordinator, who will support you from this first step through completion.
A fee of $75 will be collected at the time of your consultation. During this initial consultation, you will spend 35-45 minutes directly with Dr. Howard so you can become acquainted and discuss your concerns and goals and the desired procedure(s). If a surgical procedure is scheduled, this consultation fee may be applied toward the total cost of the procedure. (This rebate does not apply to injections or minor office procedures.)
After your initial consultation, if you decide to pursue surgery, you will be scheduled for a second pre-operative visit at our office, typically 10 days to 2 weeks prior to your surgery. We highly recommend that your spouse or significant other accompany you so they can also meet Dr. Howard and have their questions and concerns addressed.
During this second visit Dr. Howard will discuss your surgical plan in detail, including your pre-operative instructions and post-operative recovery. She will also go through the entire surgical consent document that outlines all of the risks, benefits and alternatives of your surgery. You will have your pre-operative photos taken. You will also receive your prescriptions so you can have them filled ahead of time and waiting at home for you after surgery (it is not necessary to take these medications prior to your surgery).
After meeting with Dr. Howard, the Patient Coordinator will meet with you to settle your account and give you your surgical itinerary, which will include a pre-registration visit to the hospital and your first post-operative office visit.
When you go to the hospital for your pre-registration appointment, you will be asked to pay the facility and anesthesia portions of your fees. They will draw your blood, repeat your medical history and take your personal information. All of this is done ahead of time so that everything will flow smoothly on the day of surgery.
